German Sports Youth represents the interests of its member organisations. These are organised in three pillars. These are the 16 youth organisations of the state sports federations, 62 youth organisations of the central associations, and 10 youth organisations of the sports associations with special functions. 

The conferences of the state youth sports associations, the youth organisations of the central organisations and the youth organisations of the sports associations with special functions meet at least once a year. They advise the dsj Management Board. The conferences each issue their own rules of procedure on their own responsibility, and every member organisation has a vote on whether or not to adopt these.
